Work Completed
T'hals and Taji now use A* to move towards the player.
So its kind of broken still and I'm not sure how I'm going to get it fixed. It seems like it should be easy but things are being stubborn! What happens is the T'hals will bunch up and the node one is trying to get to requires him to move through another T'hal, who is trying to get through the first T'hal to get to the node he needs to get too.
I have a couple ideas to fix it:
Flocking Method: Basically if a T'hal is touching another T'hal they try to move in the same direction instead of following the path. In the case of a tie they would head in the direction of the heuristic (straight towards the player) until they aren't touching any longer.
Progress Method: Check to see if the T'hal has gotten closer to the next node. If not just grab the next node and try to get there. The path will be reset the next time they check for the players location. This may cause an issue when they are up against a closed door.
Goal for tomorrow is to fix this problem! Also want to get the blond T'hals using path finding as well. That will be very simple but just working on one issue at a time!
Unlike normal I am not including a screen shot of the game itself but instead the view in the editor so that you can see the paths.
